Alamance County and the City of Mebane agreed separately on October 1 to offer incentive packages to Somerset, NJ-based Universal Preserve-a-Chem in an effort to win the company’s expansion into a former Southern Season warehouse facility in Mebane.
The company plans to invest $15 million and create 39 jobs with annual salaries averaging around $40,000, according to an article in the Times-News. First priority in hiring will be given to applicants in the Mebane area. A company representative said it plans to meet with Alamance Community College about future worker training needs.
